What Customers Say About A Voice in the Wind (Mark of the Lion #1):

Very disappointed in the condition of the book. It stated "very good" but should have stated "very worn." The book itself was excellent reading and I thoroughly enjoyed it and am now reading book 2.

Ha Ha, it's one month and i'm almost done with the 3rd book. Francine Rivers writes the most captivating stories. What will I read next. I can't put her books down. I bought this whole series and thought it would last me the summer. Well I know one thing, it will be another Francine Rivers book, her stories make me feel so close to God, and make me realize His love, though undeserved, is a gift to all of us. Thanks be to God for giving Francine Rivers a captivating venue to spread the and give us strength and hope to keep our faith growing.

This book made me feel as if I were strolling down the streets of ancient Rome. Very detailed and never boring. Hadassah, the main character was a good illustration on how to relay on God even when times are tough. I was completely engrossed by this novel and plan to read all in the series.

The Mark of the Lion series is rich in historical detail and conflict, but I found the character of Hadassah to be completely unrealistic. She overcomes every temptation that comes her way easily, she seems to have no flaws or doubts, and the few problems that she does encounter - her fear and later her struggle to forgive - are resolved without her sinning. She just doesn't seem like a human being. I also found the character of Julia to be a bit too one-dimensional.Besides Rome being an obvious allegory for modern America, the rest of the book was interesting enough, but it almost seemed as if the characters were simply there to present their views on modern issues.

I enjoy buying them for graduation gifts. I never read fiction, but a friend just insisted, I caved, glad I did. All three of the lion books are wonderful. What a spiritual lift. D K S, Augusta, Ks
